HyungGoo Kim
Graduate student, Brain and Cognitive Sciences,
Center for Visual Sciences,
University of Rochester
I am second-year graduate student interested in visual perception of motion and space. Here is my CV .
Education
Present Ph.D. student, Brain and Cognitive Sciences, University of Rochester, NY, US
2007 MS, Program in Neuroscience, Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea
2005 BS, Computer Science and Engineering, Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea
Research Interest
I am interested in neural computation in visual perception and higher-level processing and learning procedure. In particular, the way how we perceive depth and 3D space is of my major interest. Although the external environment is projected to two dimensional retina, we can recover three dimensional space in our mind and achieve computationally incredible behaviors - playing tennis, driving a car, navigating through crowded area. How we process visual information and make accurate motor output is largely unknown.
Programs and Documents
I worked as a software engineer for three years, which gave me a professional programming and collaboration skill. After I came back to school, I made visual electrophysiology program in Matlab. Here is program description and notes for program development workshop
