About this course:

This laboratory course is designed to be taken concurrently with the Neuroscience core lecture course (NSC 201 Basic Neurobiology). There are seven laboratory sessions scheduled during the semester; each section meets for two hours. The laboratory will provide hands-on experiences (brain dissection, cellular anatomy, electrophysiological recording) and demonstrations (behavioral pharmacology) to reinforce concepts introduced in the lecture course and to teach basic laboratory skills relevant to neuroscience. NSC 201L is a prerequisite for the upper-level Neurobiology lab course (required for the Neuroscience concentration) that recently has been revised to introduce students to modern neurobiological methods in a project-oriented context.
