Required or recommended for: Neuroscience Majors—NSC 201P is a prerequisite for the upper-level Neurobiology lab course, that is required for the Neuroscience concentration.
This laboratory course is designed to be taken concurrently with the Neuroscience core lecture course (NSC 201 Basic
Neurobiology). There are seven laboratory sessions scheduled during the semester; each section meets for two hours. This course
will introduce a number of different experimental and analytical methods used in neuroscience research. Laboratory experiments
will provide experience with three different approaches for studying the nervous system. NSC 201P is a prerequisite for the
upper-level Neurobiology lab course (required for the Neuroscience concentration) that recently has been revised to introduce
students to modern neurobiological methods in a project-oriented context.
