BCS 264: Signed Language Structure

Cross-listed: LIN 230/430 and ASL 200
Prerequisites: Completion of ASL 106 or permission of instructor
Offered: Spring

An examination of signed languages and the cognitive constraints that shape them, through a detailed consideration of the structure of American Sign Language and other natural signed languages of the world. Includes training in sign language notation and analysis. Knowledge of sign language is required; students must complete ASL 106 before taking this class.
