Declaring a Concentration in NeuroscienceT o become an official Neuroscience major, a student must submit a Proposal for a Concentration in Neuroscience to the program's Faculty Advisory Committee for review. The necessary forms are available in the Neuroscience Program Office, 102 Meliora Hall. A prospective Neuroscience concentrator needs a faculty advisor, chosen from among the individuals with research interests in neuroscience listed in Participating Faculty. The student asks one or two faculty members to serve as advisors and to help with the preparation of the form outlining the proposed course of study. The faculty advisor then signs the proposal form. The form is submitted to the Neuroscience Program Office and reviewed by the Faculty Advisory Committee; the Committee will inform the student in writing of its decision. Once the proposal has been approved, a concentration form will be submitted to the Center for Academic Support on the student's behalf. A Neuroscience major is expected to maintain a 2.0 grade point average in the concentration and to meet with his or her advisor(s) at least once a semester. Should it become necessary to make a change in the program of study, a student must submit a written request for the change, signed by the advisor(s), to the Neuroscience Faculty Advisory Committee for final approval. |
