Postdoc Positions in Computational Neuroscience.
Alex Pouget's laboratory. University of Geneva, Switzerland.
Postdoc positions are available in the laboratory of computational cognitive
neuroscience of Alex Pouget at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, starting
in September 2011. The successful applicants will be expected to conduct
independent research involving computational studies of probabilistic inferences
in neural circuits applied to domains such as decision making, multisensory
integration and olfactory processing. The research will have to be conducted in
collaboration with one of experimental laboratories currently associated with
Pouget's laboratory. This includes the laboratories of Zach Mainen , Matthieu
Louis, Greg DeAngelis, Dora Angelaki and Daphne Bavelier.
Candidates should have finished or should be close to submitting a Ph.D. in
Neuroscience, Psychology, Computer Science, Physics or other relevant fields,
with an academic record of scientific excellence, independent research, and a
strong interest in an interdisciplinary approach to neural computation.
A strong mathematical, statistical, and/or computational background and
experience with computers and programming (Matlab, C++, etc.) is expected.
Applicants with an experimental background who wish to learn computational
approaches will also be considered. The appointment will be for a minimum of two
years starting in September 2011 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Informal inquiries should be addressed by email to Alex Pouget (alex at
