Research Interests
My primary research interest is in how complex cognitive abilities are developed and represented in the mind and brain. This includes issues of language acquisition and representation, hierarchical learning, statistical learning, and categorization. More information is available in my Research Statement
My current work, done in collaboration with Elissa L. Newport, is exploring how learners acquire hierarchical phrase structures from miniature languages.
