Work: I am interested in how early language experience affects brain plasticity and reading ability in the deaf . I am also interested in how deafness may lead to differences in short term memory mechanisms.
Non-Work: Learning languages and keeping up with the ones I know, fiddle, bbq, Philadelphia Eagles, traveling and visiting friends in interesting places.

FUTURE GOALS:
I hope that my research will lead to improved techniques for
attaining high levels of literacy in the deaf.

Dave McColgin
Dave earned his B.A. in BCS in 2003. He went on to study Human-Computer Interaction at Georgia Tech and now researches and designs tools for information visualization at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. He went from 96 days of sunshine to 300 and still gets better skiing.
