Research
I am currently working with Alex Pouget on the neural basis of decision making from the perspective of computational neuroscience. In particular, I am investigating how both prior information and valuation of different decision criteria influence how decisions are made. Having a computer science background, I am also interested in machine learning in general, especially Bayesian inference and its approximations, model selection, and the theory of optimal decision making. Also, I work on a framework known as Learning Classifier Systems that lies at the intersection of machine learning and evolutionary computation, and have recently published a book that deals with its formulation and design from the machine learning perspective.
