The development of conceptual systems, specifically numbers and reading concepts, and how they relate to educational landmarks in younger children. Current research projects in the Rochester Kid NeuroLab include experiments in exploring the relationship between functional connectivity and number/reading concepts. Projects under development include using NIRS to map the development of number concept systems in children as young as infancy.
